Abdominal Imaging

•Abdominal assessments will largely be done via CT imaging

•Become comfortable with identifying the structures and organs within the abdominal cavity (and the retroperitoneal space)

•Below is a quick surface-level review of basic structures that should always be identified.  Become extremely comfortable being able to reference these structures.

•Abdominal structures to always look for

ProTip:  not sure what a structure is (blood vessel, bowel, ureter?), always ask to “drive”

Take the mouse and go up and down through the images.  Follow your structure (it’ll come from somewhere and connect to something).  This makes it way easier to identify structures
